Dissolve 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 tablespoon of yeast in ½ cup of warm water. Let it activate.
Mix the Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine 1½ cups whole wheat flour, 1½ cups all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon salt, 3 cups Laban, 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, and the yeast mixture. Stir until smooth.
Add the Egg and Knead:
Add 1 egg to the dough mixture and knead for 10 minutes. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
Pour the Dough on the Baking Tray:
Pour the dough on a baking tray to the size of a coin. Brown it from the bottom on a griddle or stove.
Bake in the Oven:
Transfer the tray to the LG oven and bake until the Maqshush is browned from the top.
Make the Sugar Syrup:
In a small pot under built-in hood, boil 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar. Let it simmer until it thickens.
Make the Butter Cream:
In a saucepan, melt 1 stick of butter. Add 2 tablespoons of whole wheat flour and 2 dates. Stir continuously until the dates melt and the mixture thickens.
Serve the Maqshush:
Pour the sugar syrup and butter cream over the freshly baked Maqshush and serve immediately.
